Jackson VA Celebrates Nursing Week

Nursing staff kicked off Nursing Week on May 6, 2019, with the Nursing Excellence Program at the G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center. Among those recognized were nurses who participated in the year-long RN Buddy Program, new nurses who completed their first year of service at the Medical Center, and those nursing staff who completed higher education or certifications during the year.

Also recognized were:

Nurse of the Year – Expanded Role

LaTrouna Tobias, Chief Nurse – Ambulatory & Clinical Support Services;

Registered Nurse of the Year

Karen Morgan

Licensed Practical Nurse of the Year

Maurice Gordon

and Deliondra Archie for being named Nurse Samurai of the Year, for scoring the most points during a friendly competition of nursing trivia.
