VA Jackson Research and Development Welcome to the G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center Research Service website. This site is made available for the Jackson VAMC research community to provide information to researchers and their staff on policies, procedures, funding opportunities, and other important information. The Research Service is committed to promoting the conduct of research in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations in a manner that protects the human subjects involved. The Research Service maintains open communications with researchers and staff under its oversight and will promptly respond to questions, concerns, and suggestions. Researchers and staff are encouraged to contact the ACOS/R, AO/R, IRB Chair, R&DC Chair, or RCO. In addition, monthly Brown Bag Luncheons, an open forum for discussions to voice concerns or complaints, are held on the 1st Thursday of each month in the R&DC conference room. The Research Service coordinates submissions of all VA research proposals, and is responsible for the administration of all ongoing research programs. The Research Service provides the clerical and administrative support to maintain all VA Research committees and subcommittees including the Research and Development Committee (RDC), Institutional Review Board (IRB), Subcommittee on Research Safety (SRS), Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and others. The Research Service also functions as the authority for all policies, procedures, regulations, and guidelines regarding research utilizing VA patients, VA space and VA investigators and as dictated by VA Central Office. Through the Research Compliance Officer, the Medical Center Director oversees the ethical conduct of research at the Jackson VAMC. G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center

Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
