Dr. Samuel L. White Sr., Executive Vice President/Provost at Alcorn State University served as one of the guest speakers for the Jackson VA HBCU ceremony. Dr. Vivian Fuller, Athletic Director as Jackson State University also presented.

"...as a race for talent.   Because far from being a feel-good human resource initiative, diversity and inclusion in the work force is a genuine competitive advantage.  As we look into the 21st Century, the most important VA resource will simply be: talent.  Smart, sophisticated people who are technologically literate, globally astute and operationally agile. And even as the demand for talent increases, the supply of it might very well decrease.  So, the search for the best and the brightest will become a constant, costly battle...a fight with no final victory, with no room for discrimination.   We, at the Department of Veterans of Affairs, simply want the best.  Our Veterans deserve no less."
